Job Description:
As a Technical Associate- Therapeutic Play, your role is vital in creating a positive and engaging environment that supports emotional and social health as well as healing for hospitalized children and children with chronic health conditions including children with disabilities.
Job Overview:
We are seeking individuals who are passionate about children and health to provide social and psychological support to children in healthcare settings using play based techniques. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing play interventions that cater to the physical, emotional, social, and developmental needs of our young patients. Interventions would be delivered in dedicated safe spaces in hospitals and/or communities.
This role requires a blend of leadership, compassion, empathy, and organizational skills to ensure that the playroom remains a safe and enjoyable space for children to heal and grow.

- Ensuring the safety and well-being of children in our programs and activities

- Contributing to a culture of transparency, accountability, and zero tolerance for child abuse and exploitation
Responsibilities:
- Plan and oversee daily activities and programs in the hospital playroom
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to incorporate play interventions into the treatment plans of pediatric patients.
- Assess the individual needs and preferences of children to tailor activities and interventions accordingly.
- Raise awareness on the role and benefits of therapeutic play in paediatric healthcare.
- Maintain a welcoming and clean playroom environment that complies with infection control standards.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with patients, families, and hospital staff to promote a supportive and collaborative atmosphere.
- Keep accurate records of playroom activities, including attendance, feedback, and outcomes.
- Contribute to research and grant writing activities
Qualifications:
- Degree in Early Years Education, Social work, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, or related field.
- Previous experience working with children in a healthcare or educational setting.
- Strong understanding of child development and the therapeutic benefits of play.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with children of diverse ages and backgrounds.
- Demonstrated creativity and resourcefulness in designing and implementing engaging play activities.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience working with Children with Disabilities is an advantage
