Job Description:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring all fabricated steel components meet quality standards, project specifications, and industry codes. This role requires hands-on inspection experience, technical knowledge of welding and fabrication processes, and a commitment to quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct in-process and final inspections of steel structures and components to ensure compliance with project drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
• Monitor welding activities, dimensions, surface finishes, bolt tightening, and other fabrication processes.
• Prepare and maintain inspection reports, quality records, and non-conformance reports (NCRs).
• Ensure materials used conform to required standards and certifications (e.g., mill test certificates).
• Work closely with production, welding, and engineering teams to resolve quality issues.
• Perform visual inspections and, where qualified, non-destructive testing (NDT) such as dye penetrant, ultrasonic, or magnetic particle testing.
• Verify fit-up and alignment of steel members prior to welding or assembly.
• Ensure adherence to relevant codes and standards (e.g., AWS, ASME, ISO, BS EN).
• Participate in internal and external audits, and assist with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Promote and enforce safe working practices in all inspection activities.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in a quality control role within the steel fabrication or structural steel industry.
• Solid knowledge of welding procedures, fabrication drawings, and steel grades.
• Familiarity with international standards such as AWS D1.1, ISO 9001, ASME, or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and welding symbols.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
• Certification in welding inspection (e.g., CSWIP, AWS-CWI) is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of NDT methods is a plus.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₦250,000.00 – ₦300,000.00 per month
