Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Solar Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining solar power systems to support our farming estate operations. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical knowledge, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to renewable energy solutions.

Primary Responsibilities of Role

• Conducting site assessments to determine the feasibility of solar energy installations
• Designing solar energy systems based on energy requirements, site conditions, and budget constraints
• Developing detailed engineering plans and specifications for solar projects
• Overseeing the installation and commissioning of solar energy systems
• Conducting performance evaluations and troubleshooting issues with existing solar installations.
• Staying current on industry trends and advancements in solar technology
• Collaborating with other team members, such as project managers, electricians, and contractors, to ensure successful project completion
• Providing technical support and guidance to customers and stakeholders
• Ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations related to solar energy systems

Competence Requirements

• Proficiency in solar design software and strong understanding of electrical codes and standards. Proven experience with off-grid and hybrid solar power systems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and utilize technical data for performance optimization.

Experience and Knowledge

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
• Certifications in Renewable Energy installation and design, a Master’s degree is an added advantage.
• Relevant certifications in engineering, such as COREN, are highly desirable. Experience/Knowledge:
• 5+ years of experience in solar power system design, installation, and maintenance.
