Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant with expertise in asset management and inventory management. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial transactions related to assets, inventory, and operational expenses, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and the organization’s policies. The Senior Accountant will work collaboratively with other departments to maintain accurate records, optimize inventory control, and provide timely financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Asset Management: Oversee the tracking, management, and valuation of all physical assets, ensuring they are accurately recorded in the financial systems. Perform regular asset audits to ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
Inventory Management: Manage the inventory accounting process, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records of stock levels, valuations, and movements. Collaborate with procurement and logistics teams to reconcile physical inventory with financial records.
Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare detailed financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Provide analysis and insights on asset and inventory costs, helping guide budgeting and financial decision-making.
Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets related to asset purchases, inventory stock levels, and depreciation expenses. Provide accurate forecasts to support financial planning.
Compliance & Controls: Ensure adherence to all relevant accounting principles, tax regulations, and company policies. Develop and maintain effective internal controls related to assets and inventory to minimize risks of errors or fraud.
Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Work closely with procurement, operations, and IT teams to ensure seamless integration of asset management and inventory records with the company’s ERP system.
Communication & Reporting: Communicate effectively with management and other departments to provide financial insights and recommendations regarding asset utilization and inventory management. Present financial data in a clear and concise manner.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- ICAN, ACCA, or ACA certification (required).
- Minimum of 5–8 years of experience in accounting with a focus on asset and inventory management.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
- Proficient in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks).
- Strong understanding of inventory management systems and practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with minimal supervision.
