Job Description:
The Production Engineer will be responsible for overseeing daily production operations to ensure efficiency, output quality, and operational safety. The role includes monitoring production performance, optimizing resource utilization, and executing routine and preventive maintenance of equipment. This position is ideal for someone who can balance engineering knowledge with practical problem-solving skills on the production floor.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Management: Monitor and manage daily production activities to ensure targets for output, quality, and efficiency are metAnalyze production data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities. Optimize the use of manpower, machines, and materials to maximize production utility. Assist in planning production schedules in coordination with operations and logistics teams. Implement lean manufacturing and continuous improvement strategies on the production floor.
Maintenance Engineering:
Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance of production machinery and equipment. Diagnose equipment malfunctions and implement effective repairs to minimize downtime. Maintain accurate maintenance logs, schedules, and documentation.
Source and manage spare parts inventory and vendor relationships.
Ensure all machinery operates in compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
Operational Support: Collaborate with quality control and safety teams to maintain high operational standards. Train and support production staff on equipment usage and troubleshooting. Support commissioning of new machines or upgrades to existing equipment.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Production Engineering or a related field.
3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing or recycling environment with a focus on production and maintenance.
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, industrial equipment, and maintenance practices.
Experience with production monitoring systems, KPIs, and performance reporting.
Hands-on experience with troubleshooting and resolving equipment issues. Proficient in Microsoft Office and knowledge of ERP or CMMS systems is an advantage. Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of recycling technologies or waste processing systems. Certifications in maintenance or safety (e.g., TPM, Six Sigma, OSHA). Familiarity with energy efficiency and sustainability metrics.
