Job Description:
We are seeking a Procurement Officer that will ensure and carry out negotiations and reviews of prices are carried out in favorable terms to the organization to achieve savings. And also he/she would be responsible to Supervise, co-ordinate and lead all buyers in the procurement department of all materials and equipment for Projects secured by Company and Contribute to the overall business of the Company by maximizing profitability through effective purchasing strategies.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
1. Responsible for managing budgets, evaluating and selecting suppliers, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize procurement processes.
2. Advice the Operations department and update price books per quarter.
3. Create and execute procurement strategies that align with the Group’s objectives, ensuring cost-effective procurement processes and supplier relationship management.
4. Suggests alternative technical solutions to meet the company’s requirements more efficiently.
5. Sourcing and contract negotiation: Identify and engage with suppliers, vendors, and consultants. Negotiate favorable contracts and terms, ensuring optimal pricing, quality, and delivery performance.
6. Creating Payment requests files and submitting them to finance.
7. Deliveries all materials she supplies takes place within a maximum of one week for non-emergency orders and 2 days max for emergency orders.
8. Stakeholder management: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, providing support, resolving disputes, and addressing any procurement-related issues.
9. Manage procurement budgets and control procurement costs, monitoring expenditures and optimizing procurement processes to achieve cost savings without compromising quality.
10. Develop and implement supplier evaluation criteria based on quality, cost, delivery performance, and other relevant factors. Conduct tendering processes and select suppliers that meet the Group’s requirements.
11. Updating supplier database & material category price list.
12. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, facilities, and construction, to align procurement activities with the organizational objectives.
13. Inventory and stores management: Oversee inventory management, including periodic stock counts, reconciliations, and proper valuation and identification of materials.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
· B.Sc. in Finance/ Accounting/ Economics.
· A postgraduate degree will be an added advantage.
· A minimum of 2-5 years of relevant experience.
· Experience in finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles.
· Good negotiation skills.
· Ability to analyze financial data and interpret financial reports, statements, and projections.
· Strong Integrity.
· Competency in the use of automated financial accounting and reporting applications.
· Intuitiveness and attention to detail.
· Ability to communicate effectively.
· Strong analytical and leadership skills.
· Creates a culture of continuous improvement.
