PROCUREMENT ASSISTANT

Job Description:
This role is essential for maintaining the efficiency and accuracy of purchasing operations and ensuring the organization’s procurement policies and procedures are followed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in sourcing suppliers and obtaining quotations.
- Prepare and process purchase orders and requisitions.
- Track orders and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
- Maintain procurement records, including vendor information, pricing, and product availability.
- Support in negotiating terms with suppliers under the guidance of the Procurement Manager.
- Communicate with internal departments to identify purchasing needs.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures.
- Assist in evaluating vendor performance and maintaining approved supplier lists.
- Help with inventory tracking and stock level assessments.
- Coordinate with accounts and logistics departments regarding invoices and deliveries.
Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred.
- Prior experience in a procurement or administrative role is an advantage.
- Basic understanding of procurement processes and supply chain operations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and familiarity with procurement software.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
Working Conditions:
- Office-based role with standard working hours.
- May require occasional travel or visits to supplier locations or warehouses.
