Job Description:
Hamu Legal is seeking a highly experienced and independent People & Culture Lead to own and drive the firm’s people strategy. This is a high-impact role responsible for organizational development, talent management, and employee engagement in a high-performance work environment. The ideal candidate is proactive, operates with minimal supervision, and can implement structure and systems that support our culture of excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Design and execute a people and talent strategy that aligns with the firm’s strategic goals.
Lead workforce planning and ensure the right talent mix for evolving business needs.
Manage the full recruitment cycle and develop a structured onboarding experience.
Coordinate performance reviews, career development, and learning initiatives.
Drive a culture of inclusion, accountability, and high performance.
Oversee all people operations, documentation, compliance, and reporting.
Facilitate leadership development and internal training programs.
Collaborate with senior leadership to improve team structure and operational efficiency.
Utilize HR technology and data to guide decisions and track progress.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Law, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.
4–7 years of experience in HR/People & Culture, preferably in a professional services, finance, or global non-profit setting.
Proven experience in leading people initiatives and shaping organizational culture.
Strong knowledge of Nigerian labor laws and HR compliance.
Technologically inclined with a data-driven approach to HR.
Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
