We are looking for a skilled and experienced Multi-Tenant Email Server Setup Specialist to join our team and ensure the reliable, secure, and efficient operation of our email infrastructure for all our tenants.

JOB ROLE – WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

The Multi-Tenant Email Server Setup Specialist will be responsible for the design, implementation, configuration, and maintenance of our multi-tenant email server environment. This role requires a deep understanding of email protocols, server architecture, and the unique challenges and considerations of managing email services in a shared infrastructure model. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, a meticulous approach to security and data isolation, and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in a multi-tenant environment.

Responsibilities:

• Design, install, configure, and maintain email servers and related services (e.g., SMTP, IMAP, POP3, anti-spam, anti-virus) in a multi-tenant environment.
• Implement and enforce strict data isolation and security measures to ensure the privacy and integrity of each tenant’s email data.
• Configure and manage per-tenant email settings, including domains, user accounts, aliases, and routing rules, while optimizing for shared resources.
• Develop and implement automation scripts and tools for the efficient setup, configuration, and management of new tenants.
• Monitor email server performance, deliverability, and security, proactively identifying and resolving issues that could impact multiple tenants.
• Troubleshoot complex email delivery and connectivity problems, analyzing logs and network traffic in a multi-tenant context.
• Implement and manage email authentication mechanisms such as SPF, DKIM, and DMARC for multiple domains.
• Collaborate with development and support teams to address email-related issues and provide technical guidance on email best practices in a multi-tenant setup.
• Plan and execute upgrades and patches to the email infrastructure with minimal disruption to tenants.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of the email server architecture, configurations, and procedures for the multi-tenant environment.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in email server management, security, and multi-tenancy.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Proven experience in setting up, configuring, and managing email servers (e.g., Postfix, Sendmail, Exim, Exchange, Zimbra) in a production environment.
• Strong understanding of email protocols (SMTP, IMAP, POP3) and their operation.
• Experience with implementing and managing email security protocols (SPF, DKIM, DMARC).
• Demonstrated experience working with multi-tenant architectures, with a focus on data isolation and resource management.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, Perl) for automation and task management.
• Experience with monitoring tools and techniques for email server performance and availability.
• Solid understanding of networking concepts, DNS, and firewall configurations relevant to email traffic.
