Job Description:

The Marine Operations Supervisor (MOC) will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination, assurance, and oversight of offshore marine vessel operations. This role involves both desktop-based evaluations and site-specific supervision to ensure marine activities are carried out efficiently, safely, and in full compliance with SCiN’s operational standards and HSSE policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the achievement of SCiN Marine Department’s HSSE performance and “Goal Zero” objectives.
  • Review Daily Progress Reports (DPRs) submitted by vessels and escalate concerns to Contract Holders.
  • Prepare and issue Emergency Response Team (ERT) step-out requests for all SCiN vessel movements.
  • Coordinate with the Shore Operations Centre (SOC) on movement requests and SEV (Security Escort Vessel) support.
  • Resolve business deliverable conflicts with minimal disruption by liaising with relevant focal points (e.g., ILS, CH).
  • Review and support reconciliation of Electronic Fuel Monitoring System (EFMS) data versus daily fuel consumption reports.
  • Maintain and update the Daily Marine Operations Vessel Activity Tracker and communicate changes to stakeholders.
  • Attend relevant meetings including:
  • SOC Operations Meetings
  • ILS Scheduling Meetings
  • Daily Offshore Vessel Coordination Meetings
  • General Marine Operational Meetings related to SCiN activities
  • Monitor and coordinate marine vessel operational demands across SNEPCo and project portfolios.
  • Support Marine Assurance functions by maintaining updates to GMAS, SharePoint, and related document systems.
  • Conduct departure checks for all vessels leaving onshore or offshore locations, as required.
  • Engage with third-party vessel stakeholders where necessary.
  • Participate in Marine Duty Supervisor call-out rotation for out-of-hours support.
  • Uphold the highest HSSE standards in compliance with SCiN Policies, Marine MOPAG, and Group SEAM Standards.

Candidate Requirements: Number of Positions: One (1) Marine Operations Supervisor (Office-Based – Lagos)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master Mariner Class 1 or Chief Engineer Class 1 Foreign Going Certificate of Competency.
  • Minimum of 15 years’ experience in marine transport and logistics, including:
  • At least 10 years sea-going experience, and
  • 5 years at management level.
  • Candidates with Class 2 (Deck or Engineer) Unlimited Certificates and over 5 years of management-level sea-going experience may also be considered.
  • Proficiency in using office equipment and software required for processing operational and technical reports.
