Job Description:

The ideal candidate will have expertise in corporate law, contract negotiation, regulatory compliance, and dispute resolution within the oil and gas sector.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide legal advice on corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters related to oil and gas operations.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
• Ensure compliance with local, national, and international laws governing the industry.
• Represent the company in legal proceedings, negotiations, and dispute resolutions.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities and government agencies on legal and compliance matters.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop legal strategies to mitigate potential issues.
• Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations affecting the oil and gas sector.
• Assist in handling litigation, arbitration, and mediation cases as required.
• Provide training and guidance to employees on legal best practices and compliance.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) and Call to Bar (BL) certificate.
• Minimum of 3 years post call experience in legal practice, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
• Strong knowledge of corporate law, contract law, and regulatory compliance.
• Proficient in legal research, drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
• Ability to handle multiple legal matters and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication, research, and interpersonal skills.
