Laundry Attendant

Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sort, wash, dry, iron, and fold laundry to ensure cleanliness and quality.
2. Operate laundry equipment (washers, dryers, ironers) safely and efficiently.
3. Maintain laundry supplies and inventory.
4. Ensure timely delivery of clean laundry to rooms and public areas.
5. Clean and maintain the laundry area, equipment, and tools.
6. Follow hotel laundry policies, procedures, and standards.
7. Report lost or damaged items to management.
Laundry-Specific Tasks:
1. Wash, dry, and iron guest laundry, staff uniforms, and hotel linens.
2. Fold and package laundry for distribution.
3. Restock linens and towels in rooms and public areas.
4. Clean and maintain laundry carts, bins, and equipment.
Housekeeping Support:
1. Assist with room preparation (making beds, replenishing linens).
2. Help maintain cleanliness of public areas (corridors, lobby).
3. Support housekeeping staff during peak periods.
Additional Responsibilities:
1. Maintain confidentiality of guest information.
2. Report maintenance issues or hazards to management.
3. Participate in training sessions and meetings.
4. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and security regulations.
Skills and Qualifications:
1. Previous laundry or housekeeping experience (1-2 years).
2. Ability to lift heavy loads (up to 25 kg).
3. Basic math skills for inventory management.
4. Attention to detail and quality.
5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
6. Knowledge of laundry procedures, chemicals, and equipment.
7. Certification in laundry or housekeeping (desirable).
Physical Demands:
1. Standing for long periods.
2. Lifting, bending, and stretching.
3. Exposure to chemicals and cleaning agents.
Working Hours:
1. Flexible shifts (morning, afternoon, evening).
2. Weekends and holidays may be required.
