Inventory Assistant

Job Description:

Precise Lighting Ltd, a leading Luxury Lighting and Furniture Retail Company, is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Inventory Assistant to support the day-to-day management of inventory across all our business units. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in maintaining accurate inventory records, supporting stock movement processes, and ensuring compliance with internal control standards. A background in accounting or finance is a strong advantage, given the role’s involvement in reconciliations, vendor documentation, and stock valuation accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing stock in both manual and digital systems.

Monitor inventory levels and flag shortages, surpluses, or slow-moving items for review.

Assist with transfers between warehouses or branches, ensuring proper documentation and system updates.

Conduct routine stock reconciliations between physical stock and ERP records.

Assist with the planning, coordination, and execution of daily, weekly, and periodic stock counts.

Record findings and help investigate any variances or discrepancies.

Support in the verification of vendor invoices, purchase orders, and delivery notes.

Liaise with procurement and finance to ensure proper stock intake and vendor accountability.

Ensure all inventory-related documentation is organized and up-to-date for audits.

Assist in ensuring compliance with company inventory policies and internal control procedures.

Prepare basic inventory reports, including stock movement summaries and discrepancy reports.

Track and share data on inventory performance metrics with relevant departments.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of HND/B.Sc. in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain, or related fields.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in inventory, storekeeping, or warehouse operations.
  • Basic understanding of inventory and accounting principles is required.
  • Accounting background is a strong advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems (quickbooks) is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of integrity and commitment to accuracy and confidentiality.
