Inventory Accounts Officer

Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Inventory Officer to manage and oversee the company’s stock of ambience fittings, tiles, and paints. The ideal candidate will be responsible for tracking inventory levels, ensuring accurate stock records, coordinating stock movement, and optimizing inventory control processes to minimize losses and maximize efficiency.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate inventory records by tracking stock levels, movement, and usage.
  • Conduct regular stock audits and cycle counts to verify inventory accuracy.
  • Monitor stock levels and coordinate timely replenishment of materials to prevent shortages or overstocking.
  • Collaborate with the procurement, warehouse and sales teams to ensure seamless stock management.
  • Receive, inspect, and document incoming shipments to ensure quality and quantity compliance.
  • Organize warehouse/storage areas efficiently for easy access and retrieval of items.
  • Implement inventory control measures to reduce risks of stock losses, theft, and damages.
  • Maintain an inventory database and generate reports on stock movement, discrepancies, and trends.
  • Coordinate stock transfers between branches, showrooms, and warehouse locations.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and storage guidelines to maintain a secure inventory environment.

  • Strong knowledge of Accounting and Inventory management systems and best practices.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with different departments.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, inventory software, and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, Sage or similar tools).

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or HND in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in inventory control, Accounting, warehouse management, or stock management, preferably in the construction materials, retail, or manufacturing industry.
  • Experience using inventory tracking software and generating stock reports.

Pay: From ₦200,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Lagos: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
