Job Description:

Our Client provides full-outsourcing solutions for material handling equipment (MHE), which includes forklifts and other MHE, full-maintenance packages as well as the operators. They require the service of the Head of the technical operation, you will be responsible for overseeing a team of technicians in daily operations, ensuring efficient and effective performance in technical support, troubleshooting, and maintenance tasks. This includes managing the maintenance and repair of our forklift fleet, equipment, and facilities, as well as ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards. The successful candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record of managing complex technical operations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and mentor a team of technicians, ensuring tasks are completed on time and to the highest standards.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to junior technic
  • Oversee and perform troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair tasks on systems, equipment, or machinery.
  • Ensure all technical work complies with industry standards, safety protocols, and best practices.
  • Coordinate and prioritize daily work schedules, ensuring adequate coverage for all tasks and projects.
  • Track and report on the team’s performance, providing feedback and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Handle complex technical issues that require advanced troubleshooting or decision-making. Escalate unresolved issues to senior management or technical experts as needed.
  • Maintain proper records of equipment, tools, and parts used for repairs, ensuring optimal inventory levels.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, managers, and external vendors, to ensure smooth operations.
  • Ensure the team adheres to safety protocols and regulatory requirements to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of our fleet of vehicles, including trucks, trailers, and forklifts.
  • Ensure that all vehicles are in good working condition and meet regulatory requirements.
  • Implement a preventive maintenance program to minimize downtime and reduce maintenance costs.
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of our equipment, including cranes, forklifts, and other material-handling equipment.
  • Ensure that all facilities, including warehouses and offices, are well-maintained and meet regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, including those related to transportation, safety, and environmental protection.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Led a team of technical staff, including mechanics, technicians, and maintenance personnel.
  • Provide guidance, training, and development opportunities to team members.
  • Foster a culture of safety, quality, and customer service within the team.
  • Develop and manage budgets for technical operations, including maintenance, repair, and equipment replacement.
  • Implement cost-saving initiatives and optimize resources to minimize waste and reduce costs.
  • Develop and implement quality and safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
  • Perform other duties assigned.

Qualification/Requirements

  • OND/HND/BSc/Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field or Associate’s Degree in a technical field preferred
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in Forklift technical operations management, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or leadership role .
  • Relevant certifications, such as CMRP (Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional) or CEM (Certified Energy Manager), are an added advantage.
  • Proven track record of managing complex technical operations, including fleet management, equipment maintenance, and facilities management
  • Strong technical knowledge of vehicles, equipment, and facilities.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex technical problems and develop effective solutions.
  • Proficient in budgeting and cost control.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines under pressure
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Familiarity with safety procedures and regulations related to the industry
