Head of Operations – Bakery & Restaurant

Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced and results-driven Head of Operations to oversee the complete operational strategy and performance of our bakery and restaurant. This role is critical in ensuring that both arms of the business run efficiently, maintain the highest quality standards, and deliver an exceptional guest experience. The ideal candidate will bring leadership, operational expertise, and a passion for food and hospitality.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership
- Oversee daily operations across all locations, ensuring smooth coordination between the bakery and restaurant units
- Standardize operating procedures and ensure consistency across both business areas
- Implement systems for quality control, food safety, and hygiene compliance
- Drive efficiency in kitchen operations, service delivery, and supply chain logistics
Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop department managers, including kitchen, service, and bakery teams
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Manage staffing plans, recruitment, and training to support business growth
Financial Oversight
- Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and KPIs for all operational departments
- Analyze P&L statements, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure profitability targets are met
- Negotiate with vendors and manage supplier relationships
Customer Experience
- Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and customer service
- Address customer feedback promptly and use insights to improve operations
- Collaborate with marketing and customer experience teams to support promotions and seasonal campaigns
Strategic Growth
- Support the expansion and scaling of the brand, including new outlets or service lines
- Research market trends, analyze competition, and drive innovation in product offerings and services
- Collaborate with leadership on long-term business strategy and growth planning
Requirements:
- 5+ years in an operations leadership role within the food & beverage industry, preferably with both bakery and restaurant experience
- Strong understanding of kitchen workflows, production planning, and service standards
- Proven ability to lead teams and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills
- Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets and P&Ls
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field
- Experience with multi-unit management or franchise operations
- Familiarity with POS systems, restaurant management software, and inventory tools
