Job Description:
The General Manager (GM) will serve as a key strategic and operational leader in a dynamic financial services organization. The GM will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, driving strategic initiatives that align with the firm’s investment goals, managing business development (BD) efforts, and enhancing portfolio performance. Reporting directly to the Founding Partner, the GM will ensure effective collaboration across internal teams, portfolio companies, and the investment team while maintaining the highest standards of ethical and professional excellence.
Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership & Investment Oversight
- Collaborate with the Founding Partner to define long-term strategies for operational efficiency and investment performance.
- Support the end-to-end deal sourcing process: opportunity identification, due diligence, and negotiations.
Operations, Portfolio & Business Development
- Oversee daily operations, including HR, compliance, administration, and performance tracking.
- Monitor and support portfolio companies to drive growth and value creation.
- Lead BD initiatives to identify investment opportunities, strategic partnerships, and growth channels.
Stakeholder Engagement & Investor Relations
- Act as a primary liaison with portfolio companies, partners, and stakeholders.
- Support fundraising efforts and investor reporting using data-driven insights.
Team Leadership & Culture
- Lead and develop a high-performing, cross-functional team.
- Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
- 8–10 years of progressive leadership experience in venture capital, private equity, management consulting, or high-growth environments.
- Experience in strategic planning, operations, and deal execution.
- Strong financial acumen and investment analysis capabilities.
- Familiarity with Sharia-compliant finance principles is preferred.
- Proven track record in team leadership and change management.
