Job Description:

The Furniture Machine Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining woodworking machinery used in the cutting, shaping, and assembling of furniture components. The operator ensures machines are set up correctly and materials are processed accurately according to production specifications while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate furniture-making machines such as panel saws, edge banders, boring machines, sanding machines, and tenoning machines.
• Read and interpret production blueprints, technical drawings, or job orders to determine machine settings and material requirements.
• Load and position raw materials (e.g., wood, MDF, laminates) into machines and monitor operations for efficiency and safety.
• Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality and design specifications; make adjustments as needed.
• Follow health and safety procedures in accordance with company policies and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with team members including carpenters, assemblers, and quality control personnel to ensure production deadlines are met.

Requirements:

• Education: Secondary school certificate or technical vocational training in woodworking or machine operation preferred.
• Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience operating woodworking/furniture manufacturing machinery.
