Job Description:

The Farm Supervisor will be responsible for the day-to-day management of farm activities, including crop cultivation, supervising farm workers, ensuring compliance with agricultural standards, and optimizing farm productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

– Supervise and coordinate all farm operations (planting, harvesting, irrigation, pest control, etc.).

– Manage farm labor and ensure efficient workforce scheduling and task allocation.

– Monitor the health and growth of crops or livestock and implement best farming practices.

– Maintain accurate records of farm production, input usage, and labor.

– Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

– Conduct routine inspections of farm equipment and coordinate maintenance as needed.

– Liaise with the farm manager and report on productivity, issues, and improvement strategies.

– Monitor inventory levels of farm supplies and assist in procurement when necessary.

– Train and mentor junior farm staff on proper techniques and safety procedures.

– Identify and resolve operational problems quickly and efficiently.

Qualifications and Requirements:

– Minimum of HND/B.Sc. in Agriculture, Animal Science, Agronomy, or a related field.

– At least 6 years of supervisory experience in a commercial farm setting.

– Strong understanding of farm machinery, irrigation systems, and crop/livestock management.

– Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

– Ability to work under pressure and in rural/outdoor settings.

– Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

– Knowledge of agrochemical applications and farm input planning.

– Proficiency in using farm management tools and basic computer applications is an added advantage.
