Job Description:

We’re looking for a Data Engineering Specialist to mentor interns and guide them through real-life data engineering projects. This role is ideal for someone passionate about teaching, experienced in building and managing data pipelines, and eager to shape the next generation of data engineers by offering hands-on coaching and feedback on intern projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Mentor interns as they work on live data engineering projects, providing regular feedback and guidance.
• Develop case studies, projects, and hands-on exercises to support learning.
• Track intern performance and provide structured feedback on their work in building and managing data systems.
• Create and update learning resources on data engineering tools, workflows, and best practices.
• Facilitate learning through reviews of intern code and guiding them through data pipeline creation, ETL processes, and database management.
• Collaborate with fellow coaches to enhance the internship experience.
• Support outreach efforts by leading occasional free training sessions on data engineering topics.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in data engineering, building data pipelines, and working with large datasets.
• Strong mentorship or coaching skills.
• Proficient in data engineering tools and technologies such as SQL, Python, ETL frameworks, and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Solid portfolio showcasing previous data engineering projects, including work on data storage, processing, and automation.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience using tools like Git, Jenkins, or Apache Kafka is a plus.
