Data Engineer (Mid to Senior Level)

Job Description:

Alpha Global is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines and architectures that support analytics and machine learning initiatives. This role requires a strong background in data processing frameworks, cloud platforms, and database technologies, with at least 5 years of professional experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines for data ingestion, transformation, and storage.
• Design and implement data warehouses, data lakes, and real-time streaming data solutions.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and software engineers to deliver data products.
• Ensure data quality, security, and compliance with data governance standards.
• Automate data workflows using orchestration tools like Apache Airflow or similar.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot data pipeline issues.
• Document data architecture and pipeline designs.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related science.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in data engineering or related roles.
• Proven experience with cloud data platforms and big data technologies.

Certifications (Preferred)

• Google Professional Data Engineer
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate
• AWS Certified Big Data – Specialty

Technical Skills:

• Programming: Python, SQL, Scala (optional)
• Data Processing: Apache Spark, Hadoop, Kafka
• Orchestration: Apache Airflow, Luigi, Talend
• Databases: PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redshift, BigQuery, MongoDB
• Cloud Platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP
• Containerization: Docker, Kubernetes

Good-to-Have Skills:

• Experience with data modeling and governance
• Familiarity with machine learning pipelines
