Credit Analyst

Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Credit Analyst to evaluate the creditworthiness of loan applicants in line with our Credit Risk & Portfolio Management policies. The ideal candidate will assess financial data, conduct risk analysis, and ensure that loan applications meet all due diligence requirements. Prior experience in fintech or financial services is essential.

Key Responsibilities

1. Review and assess loan applications in accordance with internal credit policies and risk guidelines.

2. Verify that direct debit features are active on borrowers’ accounts.

3. Conduct credit bureau checks to determine the credit profile and history of applicants.

4. Liaise with ecosystem partners to validate borrowers’ financial activity and transaction history.

5. Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Product, and Customer Success teams to resolve credit-related issues, particularly for embedded finance products.

6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date credit records and ensure proper documentation is filed in line with regulatory standards.

7. Track loan performance and proactively monitor repayments.

8. Escalate delinquent accounts for collections or recovery efforts.

9. Prepare and submit monthly credit compliance reports to relevant credit bureaus.

10. Use internal tools and credit assessment checklists to engage applicants prior to disbursement.

11.Stay informed about evolving lending protocols and market trends.

Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.

2. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably within a fintech or financial services company.

3. Strong analytical skills and ability to make sound credit decisions.

4. Solid understanding of credit risk assessment and lending operations.

5. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

6. Familiarity with working in an Agile environment is a plus.

7. Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.

Pay: ₦275,000.00 per month
