Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Continental Chef to join our hotel kitchen team in Lekki Phase 1. The ideal candidate will specialize in preparing a wide variety of continental dishes with high-quality standards. You must be passionate about food, up to date with modern cooking techniques, and capable of working in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and present high-quality continental dishes in accordance with established recipes and hotel standards.
- Develop new menu items based on seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
- Ensure proper portion control and presentation of meals.
- Maintain hygiene and safety standards in the kitchen.
- Supervise and coordinate activities of kitchen staff when required.
- Monitor stock levels and place orders for food and kitchen supplies.
- Ensure efficient use of ingredients to minimize food waste.
- Comply with health and safety regulations and ensure kitchen cleanliness.
- Collaborate with the Head Chef and management on menu planning and kitchen operations.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Continental Chef or in a similar culinary role (minimum 3 years preferred).
- Culinary certification or professional training in Food and Beverage or related field is an advantage.
- In-depth knowledge of continental cuisine and cooking techniques.
- Strong leadership and time management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and deliver results quickly.
- Must be clean, organized, and detail-oriented.
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
- Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
