Job Description:

The Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Engineer will be responsible for the conversion of conventional fuel-powered vehicles to operate on CNG. The engineer will conduct thorough testing and inspections for CNG compatibility, ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and provide technical expertise in installation and maintenance processes. The role also involves training and managing technicians, coordinating with the garage for vehicle inspections, and ensuring optimal performance of CNG-converted vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and assess vehicles for CNG conversion feasibility.
  • Convert fuel-powered engines to operate on CNG, ensuring safety and efficiency.
  • Conduct thorough inspections and testing for CNG compatibility before and after conversion.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards related to CNG installations.
  • Work closely with the garage and relevant authorities to pass vehicle inspections.
  • Train, manage, and supervise technicians and mechanics involved in CNG conversion projects.
  • Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for CNG conversion and maintenance.
  • Provide technical support for troubleshooting and resolving issues in CNG-converted vehicles.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of conversion processes, testing results, and compliance reports.
  • Keep up to date with industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements in CNG conversion.
  • Perform any other related duties assigned by the management.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree, HND, or equivalent certification in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in CNG vehicle conversion, including converting fuel engines to CNG.
  • Strong knowledge of CNG engine systems, fuel injection, emission control, and vehicle safety regulations.
  • Experience in conducting CNG safety inspections and compliance assessments.
  • Hands-on experience with diagnostic tools and testing equipment for CNG systems.
  • Familiarity with local and international CNG safety and emission regulations.
  • Ability to train and supervise technicians effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional certifications in CNG conversion, safety, or vehicle inspection.
  • Experience working in a structured workshop or automotive garage environment.
  • Knowledge of hybrid and alternative fuel technologies.

Pay: ₦150,000.00 – ₦200,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Ikeja: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)

  • Higher National Diploma (Preferred)

  • CNG Conversion: 1 year (Required)

Language:
