Job Description:

The Nigerian Air Force Microfinance Bank is currently looking to fill the role of COO who will be responsible for managing and optimizing bank operations, including back-office support, technology solutions, and project management to enhance performance and customer experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Promote operational excellence in the bank by spearheading the Operations department
  • Ensure elimination of redundancies in the bank’s current operations processes and procedures and introduce new efficiencies
  • Ensure customers’ instructions and transaction are properly reviewed
  • Maintain accurate reporting and strong financial health through partnerships and investment
  • Lead the IT function, including the development and execution of strategies that align with the overall business goals. Drive the adoption of advanced technologies that can provide a competitive advantage and improve operational efficiency
  • Act as the centre of expertise for all operational/back-office activities within the bank
  • Responsible for optimising the bank’s operations budget by promoting efficiencies in all office support services
  • Oversee major projects, ensuring they align with goals, are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. Promote a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and implementing process enhancements.
  • Contribute to Risk (fraud) identification and mitigation
  • Establish frameworks addressing and resolving customer complaints, ensuring timely and effective responses

REQUIREMENTS

  • B.Sc./HND or its equivalent in Banking and Finance, Business Administration, Accounting or any other related field.
  • He/she must have worked in banking or the financial sector in a similar capacity for at least 6 years.
  • Must have completed the National Youth Service year (NYSC) or possess a certificate of exemption.
  • A master’s degree and/or professional certifications such as the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) or Microfinance Certification Programme (MCP) are an advantage.
  • In-depth knowledge in digital banking management, cybersecurity, banking software and operating systems
  • Demonstrable competency in strategic planning, business development, data analysis and performance/operation metric
  • Sound understanding of operational dynamics, trends in the financial industry and risk parameters.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₦200,000.00 – ₦500,000.00 per month
