Job Description:

The Chief Creative Officer (CCO) is responsible for defining and driving Nsibidi Fables’ creative vision, ensuring that our animation projects not only achieve artistic excellence but also contribute to financial growth. This role requires a visionary leader who can align creative strategies with business objectives while overseeing all aspects of animation production. The CCO will work closely with the executive team to leverage the company’s vast capabilities across multiple entertainment and educational fields, ensuring the company’s continued success and expansion.

Key Responsibilities

Creative Vision & Strategy

• Develop and implement the overarching creative vision for all animation projects, including character design, story development, artistic style, and tone.
• Set creative direction for upcoming projects, ensuring alignment with the company’s mission, brand identity, and industry trends.
• Work closely with executive leadership (CEO, CFO, CTO, etc.) to ensure creative initiatives align with overall business goals.
• Explore and integrate emerging animation technologies and methodologies to maintain industry leadership.

Leadership & Team Management

• Oversee all creative teams, including animators, storyboard artists, designers, directors, and writers.
• Foster an innovative, collaborative, and high-performance creative culture within the studio.
• Provide mentorship, guidance, and career development opportunities for creative staff.
• Recruit and retain top-tier creative talent, ensuring that Nsibidi Fables stays at the forefront of animation excellence.
• Ensure seamless collaboration between creative, technical, and production teams.

Project Oversight & Quality Control

• Oversee the entire animation pipeline, ensuring projects are executed efficiently and meet high artistic standards.
• Review and approve storyboards, character designs, animation sequences, and other visual assets.
• Ensure that animation projects are delivered on time and within budget, while maintaining creative integrity.
• Implement quality control measures to ensure that all outputs align with Nsibidi Fables’ artistic and brand standards.

Industry Engagement & Innovation

• Stay ahead of emerging industry trends, identifying opportunities to integrate new animation techniques, AI tools, and storytelling innovations.
• Represent Nsibidi Fables at industry events, festivals, and conferences, positioning the studio as a leader in African animation.
• Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including distributors, producers, talent agents, and industry influencers.

Client & Stakeholder Collaboration

• Work closely with clients, investors, and external partners to bring their vision to life through compelling animation.
• Effectively communicate creative concepts and production strategies to both creative and non-creative stakeholders.
• Address and integrate client feedback while maintaining the studio’s creative integrity.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Experience & Expertise

• 5 to 10 years of experience in the entertainment industry, including animation, film, advertising, or television production.
• Proven track record of creative leadership within a major animation studio or production house.
• Extensive experience in film/animation production, including directing, character design, storyboarding, and visual development.
• Strong understanding of the creative pipeline, from concept development to post-production.

Leadership & Communication

• Exceptional team leadership skills, with the ability to motivate, mentor, and inspire creative professionals.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate creative concepts to internal teams, clients, and executives.
• Business acumen, with the ability to align creative strategies with financial and operational goals.

Technical & Creative Skills

• Strong grasp of animation technologies, AI-driven tools, and emerging industry trends.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring high-quality standards.
• Experience working with 2D and 3D animation software, visual effects tools, and digital illustration programs (e.g., Blender, Toon Boom, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.).
• Passion for African storytelling, world-building, and pushing artistic boundaries.

International Standing Requirement

The candidate must have an international reputation in the animation, film, or entertainment industry, demonstrating experience in leading globally recognized projects, collaborations, or contributions.

Working Hours: Flexible (Office presence required as needed)

Salary: ₦400,000 – ₦500,000 (Negotiable)
