Job Description:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Chemistry Teacher to join our academic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and interactive Chemistry lessons, preparing students for examinations, and fostering a love for science. This role requires a strong foundation in organic, inorganic, and physical chemistry, as well as excellent communication and classroom management skills.

Key Responsibilities

Lesson Planning & Instruction:

  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with the curriculum and educational standards.
  • Teach students fundamental and advanced chemistry concepts, including atomic structure, chemical bonding, reactions, thermodynamics, and organic chemistry.
  • Use practical demonstrations, experiments, and interactive teaching methods to enhance student understanding.
  • Integrate technology, visual aids, and real-world applications into lessons to make Chemistry more relatable and interesting.
  • Assess students’ strengths and weaknesses and adapt teaching methods accordingly.

Laboratory & Practical Sessions:

  • Organize and supervise laboratory experiments to reinforce theoretical concepts.
  • Ensure student safety by enforcing proper handling of chemicals and lab equipment.
  • Maintain laboratory records, stock supplies, and ensure equipment is in good condition.
  • Guide students on how to write lab reports and analyze experimental data.

Assessment & Academic Support:

  • Prepare and grade assignments, quizzes, practicals, and examinations.
  • Provide constructive feedback and academic support to help students improve.
  • Monitor student progress and communicate with parents, guardians, and school management regarding performance and challenges.
  • Offer extra tutoring and revision classes when necessary to help students excel in Chemistry.

Classroom Management & Student Engagement:

  • Create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
  • Encourage students to think critically, ask questions, and explore scientific concepts independently.
  • Establish clear rules and expectations for behavior and discipline in the classroom.

Professional Development & Collaboration:

  • Stay updated on new developments in chemistry, teaching methodologies, and educational technology.
  • Attend workshops, seminars, and training programs to enhance teaching skills.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, school administrators, and the science department to improve the academic curriculum.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Science Education, or a related field (Master’s Degree is an advantage).
  • Teaching certification (TRCN certification preferred, if applicable).
  • 3 – 5 years of teaching experience in Chemistry at the secondary or higher education level.
  • Strong understanding of curriculum standards.
  • Experience with classroom management and modern teaching techniques.
  • Proficiency in using educational technology and digital resources for teaching.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students to develop an interest in Chemistry.

Preferred Qualifications.

  • Familiarity with STEM-based teaching methods and hands-on learning.
  • Ability to conduct and publish research in educational methodologies.

Work Schedule:

Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 4 PM,

Pay: From ₦70,000.00 per month
