Job Description:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Biology Science Teacher to join our academic team in Badore, Lagos. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and interactive Biology lessons, preparing students for internal and external examinations, and fostering a strong understanding of biological sciences. The teacher must have a strong command of biology concepts, practical laboratory skills, and excellent classroom management abilities.

Key Responsibilities

Lesson Planning & Teaching:

• Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans in line with the curriculum.
• Teach students fundamental and advanced concepts in Biology, including genetics, ecology, cell biology, anatomy, physiology, and microbiology.
• Use a variety of teaching techniques, including discussions, audiovisual aids, hands-on experiments, and real-world applications.
• Integrate technology and modern instructional materials to enhance student learning.

Laboratory & Practical Sessions:

• Organize and supervise biology practical sessions to reinforce theoretical knowledge.
• Ensure proper handling of biological specimens, lab equipment, and chemicals.
• Maintain a safe and organized laboratory environment by following proper safety protocols.
• Guide students in writing laboratory reports and conducting scientific investigations.

Student Assessment & Academic Support:

• Prepare, administer, and grade assignments, quizzes, tests, and examinations.
• Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback to encourage improvement.
• Offer extra tutoring and remedial classes to support struggling students.
• Track student progress and communicate with parents and school management about academic performance and behavioral issues.

Classroom Management & Student Engagement:

• Establish clear rules and expectations to maintain discipline and an engaging learning environment.
• Encourage critical thinking, curiosity, and problem-solving skills in students.
• Provide guidance on career opportunities and scientific advancements in Biology.

Professional Development & Collaboration:

• Stay updated on advancements in biological sciences, educational methodologies, and curriculum changes.
• Attend staff meetings, professional development workshops, and training sessions as required.
• Collaborate with other teachers and school administrators to enhance the overall learning experience.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Science Education, or a related field.
• Teaching certification (TRCN certification preferred, if applicable).
• 2 – 5 years of teaching experience in Biology at the secondary school level.
• Experience in laboratory management and conducting practical science lessons.
• Proficiency in using educational technology and digital learning tools.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Passion for teaching and inspiring students to develop an interest in Biology.

Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience teaching Integrated Science or other science subjects is an added advantage.

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 4 PM

Pay: From ₦70,000.00 per month
