Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Sous Chef specialized in Western Cuisines to join our team in the dynamic environment of an airline catering service. The ideal candidate will have strong culinary expertise, leadership qualities, and the ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Culinary Expertise:
• Prepare and oversee the preparation of a variety of Western dishes, ensuring consistency and quality.
• Work closely with the Sous Chef to create and develop menu items that meet airline standards and customer preferences.
• Maintain high standards of food quality and presentation.
• Kitchen Management:
• Assist in managing daily kitchen operations, including inventory control, staffing, and scheduling.
• Ensure kitchen cleanliness and adherence to hygiene and safety standards.
• Monitor food preparation processes to ensure quality control and consistency.
• Team Leadership:
• Supervise kitchen staff and assist in training and mentoring junior chefs.
• Assist the Sous Chef with planning and organizing kitchen workflow during peak hours.
• Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
• Compliance and Safety:
• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, health codes, and internal kitchen protocols.
• Handle food storage, handling, and preparation procedures in line with safety standards.

Requirements:

• Culinary Qualifications: Degree, Diploma, or Certificate from a reputable culinary institute.
• Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a Sous Chef or equivalent position in a high-volume kitchen.
• Skills:
• Strong culinary and leadership skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and time management.
• Communication skills to effectively manage kitchen teams.
• Certifications:
• Food safety certification (and other relevant culinary certifications).

Working Conditions:

• Physical Demands: Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, especially during high-demand hours.
• Work Schedule: Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays when required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₦400,000.00 – ₦500,000.00 per month
