Job Description:

We are seeking a results-driven and experienced Area Sales Manager (ASM) to oversee and drive the sales performance of our vegetable oil and mayonnaise product lines within the assigned territory. The ideal candidate will be responsible for executing sales strategies, managing the sales team and distributors, expanding market share, and achieving volume targets across key markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective territory sales plans to achieve volume and revenue targets for vegetable oil and mayonnaise.
  • Manage and grow relationships with distributors, wholesalers, and key retail customers.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise sales representatives and merchandisers to ensure route-to-market efficiency.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and pricing strategies to identify new opportunities.
  • Ensure consistent availability, visibility, and placement of products across all sales channels.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to execute in-store promotions and brand awareness campaigns.
  • Track sales performance and prepare regular reports on territory progress, forecasts, and KPIs.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, sales processes, and regulatory standards.
  • Address and resolve distributor/customer complaints in a timely and effective manner.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or any related field.
  • Minimum of 4–6 years’ experience in FMCG sales, preferably in edible oil, mayonnaise, or related food products.
  • Proven experience managing distributors, retail outlets, and sales teams in a similar territory.
  • Strong understanding of the Northern Nigeria FMCG market (if applicable).
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and sales reporting tools.
  • Must be willing to travel extensively within the assigned area.

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong business acumen with an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet targets.
  • Fluency in Hausa and/or familiarity with the local language and culture (for Northern region roles) is an added advantage.

Pay: From ₦450,000.00 per month
