Job Description:
- Manage the activities of the finance department and coordinate the process of corporate financial planning, budgeting, control, and reporting.
- Responsible for managing the Hub invoices, Proforma, Expenses, cash flows, banking relationships and facilities, including negotiating new facilities where required.
- Ensure invoices are issued on time and payment are made within 30days
- Filing of PAYE taxes for the Business Units.
- Filing of VAT and WHT for the Business Units
- Ensure systems and accounting records are set up properly, accurately, complying with statutory requirements.
- Advise management on the financial implications of business activities and initiatives to maximize profitability and or take corrective actions where necessary.
- Ensure that internal controls are in place and reviewed periodically for effectiveness and suitability.
- Ensure availability of adequate funds for project activities at the Hub by submitting timely
- Lead the planning and budgeting process of the hub.
- Work plans and budgets and accountability of all funds previously released, to the PMU.
- Undertake monthly reconciliations and prepare financial reports and advise the management on the financial status of the Hub, and ensure timely submission of the reports to the Operation Manager & MD/CEO.
- Ensure compliance with all legal, audit, tax and contractual responsibilities.
- Ensure appropriate budget is provided for programs and other activities
- Manage requests for extra-budgetary expense
- Prepare income statement, balance sheet and cash flow statements
- Support annual audit process with auditors
- File annual returns with the Corporate Affairs Commission
- Manage company accounts and maintain financial files and record.
- Provide advice on how to increase revenue and reduce costs
- Perform any other duties as assigned from time to time.
Requirements
- BSc/MSc Degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field
- Minimum of four (4) years of proven experience as a Chartered Accountant, preferably in the real estate, co-working space, or hospitality industry.
- Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including GAAP
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Professional certification (e.g. ACA, ACCA or CIMA) is mandatory.
