Job Description:

The ideal candidate is experienced in standard accounting practices, but also comfortable navigating the nuances of crypto assets, blockchain-based transactions, and regulatory requirements in the fintech space.

This role will be pivotal in ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and scalability of our financial processes as we grow.

Key Responsibilities:

• General Accounting & Financial Reporting
• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including ledger entries, bank reconciliations, and monthly closings.
• Prepare financial statements, cash flow reports, and balance sheets.
• Ensure compliance with FIRS/GAAP standards.
• Crypto Asset Accounting
• Track and reconcile crypto wallet transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, staking, and on-chain activity.
• Maintain accurate records of digital asset holdings, fair value adjustments, and token movements.
• Support revenue recognition for token-based transactions, staking/yield income, or DeFi-related activities.
• Compliance & Audits
• Assist in regulatory reporting (e.g., tax filings, financial audits, crypto disclosures).
• Maintain documentation for internal and external audit readiness.
• Accounts Payable / Receivable
• Oversee fiat and crypto vendor payments and receivables.
• Manage employee reimbursements and operational expenses.
• Process Improvement & Automation
• Collaborate with tech and product teams to automate reconciliation and reporting processes using APIs or custom dashboards.
• Help implement or maintain ERP/accounting systems and crypto accounting tools.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (ICAN Certified).
• 3–5 years of accounting experience, ideally in a fintech, crypto, or high-growth tech environment.
• Strong understanding of crypto wallets, exchanges, and blockchain transaction flows.
• Familiarity with crypto accounting platforms (e.g., Bitwave, Cryptio, Ledgible) is a plus.
• Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, NetSuite).
• Knowledge of financial reporting standards and internal controls.
• Ability to adapt in a fast-moving, highly regulated industry.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with DeFi, staking, NFTs, or tokenomics.
• Understanding of global crypto tax implications and financial compliance.
• Exposure to startup operations and fundraising processes (cap tables, token vesting, etc.)
