Job Description:
The Accountant will be responsible for various financial functions, including analysis, reporting, invoicing, accounts payable and receivable, and vendor assessment, reporting to the Manager. As a small organization, a single accountant will oversee all aspects of financial management. The role requires both following instructions and working proactively to help achieve departmental goals in a professional and culturally appropriate manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and deliver accurate financial reports, statements, and metrics through reconciliations, audits, regulatory filings, and management reports.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies by staying updated on relevant legislation and providing guidance to management.
- Analyze financial data to detect trends, identify variances, and generate business insights for specialized reports.
- Maintain strong accounting controls and safeguard financial data by implementing system backups and process documentation.
- Support core accounting activities, including payment processing, transaction verification, balance sheet preparation, and communicating financial procedures.
- Prepare tax filings and ensure timely submission of tax payments in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities by providing data-driven insights and financial modeling.
- Monitor cash flow, track financial transactions, and manage accounts reconciliation to ensure accurate financial positioning.
- Conduct periodic cost analysis and expense tracking to optimize budget allocations and financial efficiency.
- Support internal and external audit processes by compiling necessary documentation and addressing auditor inquiries.
Role Overview:
- Manage audits and financial reporting to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency, including implementing new audit systems, overseeing audits, and generating financial statements and budgets.
- Evaluate financial performance, analyze data, and provide management with strategic insights, forecasts, and recommendations for process improvements.
- Monitor inventory levels by tracking transactions, analyzing reports, and collaborating with relevant teams.
- Document financial policies and procedures, maintain project records, and contribute to special departmental and organizational initiatives as needed.
- Oversee payroll processing, ensuring accurate and timely salary payments while maintaining compliance with labor laws and tax regulations.
- Implement financial best practices and recommend improvements to accounting procedures and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Provide financial guidance and support to other departments to ensure alignment with overall business objectives.
- Assist in the development of internal controls to mitigate financial risks and enhance organizational financial integrity.
Pay: ₦100,000.00 per month
