Job description:
We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Verification Officer to join our team in Abuja.
As a Verification Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and authenticity of candidate backgrounds, documents, and credentials.
You will maintain confidentiality, generate progress reports, and develop verification strategies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain confidentiality of background check information
Generate timely progress reports of verification activities
Manage verification budgeting for clients
Process background check documentation according to unit SOPs
Conduct telephone interviews and internet-based research to verify employment, education, and professional license information
Perform online certificate verification and KYC/CDD documentation review
Notify hiring managers of the outcome of background verification exercises
Handle individual verification and document validation
Develop and maintain strategies and tools for various verification dimensions
Provide reports on certificate verification as requested by the supervisor
Conduct fraud investigations and data entry for outsourced staff information
Run discreet checks on in-house employees
2+ years of experience in verification or a related field
Bachelor’s Degree
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
Strong communication and reporting skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
N70,000 – N80,000 monthly
