Job description:
To develop policies and procedures warranting employees’ health and safety within and beyond company premises. To plan and conduct field visits, investigate incidents and accidents, and analyze data results to update and improve the Health and Safety Standards.
Responsibilities
Contribute to the development of departmental strategy as cascaded down from the functional strategy and oversee its implementation within own section and its operations, in order to ensure vertical alignment and horizontal integration with other interfacing departmental strategies across Jubaili
Manage the sectional team of direct and indirect reports through effective recruitment, development, performance management, and succession planning, in order to maximize team performance and achieve sectional objectives
Manage the section’s daily operations by providing expertise, enabling teamwork, and aligning processes, in order to achieve high performance standards and meet established targets.
Reviews and Sets Health and Safety Standards, Policies, and Procedures based on occupational needs in Factory, and Warehouses, and where needed, including Company Offices and Client Sites, to ensure mitigation or elimination of hazardous operations, and in compliance with local authority’s laws and regulations.
Assesses and develops Training and Awareness needs for employees (including new joiners) in collaboration with line managers and HR Management, sets HSE Training Calendars, and ensures proper implementation and effectiveness on all relevant employees and functions.
Plans, coordinates, and conducts routine field inspections (as well as ad-hoc inspections), to warrant safe utilization of tools, equipment, machines, fluency of workplace ergonomics, and clearance of emergency and fire exits, to minimize accidents and incidents occurrence.
Acts as a direct point of contact for work accidents and incidents, and liaises with emergency relief bodies, (First Aid, Fire Brigade, Medical Support, Police, …)
Engages in the investigation of accidents and incidents that result in injury to company staff or damage to company property, or third-party staff injuries or damage to their property (as needed), reports occurrence, and takes corrective action to control such issues from happening in the future.
Provides advice and recommendations on specific projects (as required) and major machine, material, and products operations and transfers, and responds to HSE queries requested by clients.
Studies, analyses, reports, and presents to management the HSE findings, incidents, and accidents, corrective actions, and preventive actions within a specific premise, period or time.
Ensures the Environment Health and Safety Standards mandated by the public sector or at major projects are adhered to in terms of Chemical Usage and Disposal, Waste Management and Recycling, Fumes Management and Filtration, and stays updated on latest changes and insertions into the governing laws and regulations.
Contribute to the management of departmental compliance to all relevant health, safety and Environmental requirements, in order to guarantee employee safety and legislative compliance.
Qualifications
University Degree (BSC / HND) in Electrical/Mechanical engineering is a plus
5 to 7 years of experience in a similar industry
Occupational Safety and Health Management Certification or Equivalent IOSH
NEBOSH
Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role.

Pay: ₦200,000.00 – ₦280,000.00 per month
