Tom Adaba Legacy

The Tom Adaba Legacy Project (TALP) is a dynamic, team-oriented, non-profit organization that advocates on behalf of and provides practical solutions through cultural programs at our community centers in Okene and Abuja, Nigeria. The mission of TALP is to champion community-centered projects through leadership, advocacy, and support of existing and new structures. To do this, TALP serves as the voice of the community through our community center, working to ensure that our development projects are well representative of our people’s physical, mental and economic health and needs. TALP is internationally recognized for its programs in cultural preservation, education and agriculture.

Job description:

The Project Manager (PM) will lead multiple projects and have a hands-on management style to oversee a heavy workload. The PM will support TALP training and development initiatives/projects in collaboration and coordination with the external partners. This position will support the design, development, and implementation of tools and training to ensure TALP is proactively addressing the needs and completing grant deliverables in a timely fashion and on budget. This position will report to the Country Director, and will collaborate closely with the entire workforce development initiatives teams in Abuja, Okene and New York. The individual will work with a diverse group of people globally, and may travel as required.
This position will also support TALP in its unique and essential role in addressing economic disparities. This is a grant-funded position.
Responsibilities include, but not be limited to, the following:
Support and lead the following activities in accordance with the overall TALP Strategic Plan:
In coordination with the Country Director, the TALP team and leadership, assist with management and implementation of work plans and deliverables to support relevant activities;
Assist with the development and implementation of training.
Deliver relevant contracts and individual requests both in person and virtually.
Help develop, facilitate, and/or promote ongoing educational and training opportunities (e.g., webinars, on-site training sessions, group learning, etc.)
Assist with the recruitment and management of 3rd parties participating in TALP activities. Support the development of key organizational relationships and communications with external stakeholders and program partners.
Represent and present on behalf of TALP at meetings with various partners, including, but not limited to, Africa-Related, Ita’i Our Cloth, and other agencies, coalitions, committees, and stakeholders to further WDI goals.
Project and contract management activities of the PM:
Help implement and manage detailed project plans and overall status for each contract. Provide status reports to supervisor and/or team, as needed.
Assist in obtaining all required project documentation for contracting.
Help ensure project deliverables and deadlines meet contract requirements.
In collaboration with CD, prepare final reports on projects and deliverables.
Manage tracking of technical assistance requests.
Serve as TALP’s Response Coordinator. In this role:
Coordinate with other TALP staff and/or partners to staff TALP as required.
Act as main contact for TALP by relaying emergency information to staff and coordinating emergency operations, as needed.
Support the maintenance and have working knowledge of TALP’s website and platforms.
Assist with data collection as directed by supervisor/TALP Leadership.
In collaboration with CD and Team, participate in TALP’ overall planning meetings.
Assist with managing online content/relevant social media accounts.
Attend conferences, trainings, exercises, and other meetings with program partners and other agencies at the discretion of TALP’ Leadership team.
Conduct other duties, as assigned, to fulfill TALP’ mission.
Qualification Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Arts, Social Sciences, Management or a related field
Minimum of three years’ professional experience in related fields with knowledge non-profit systems. Experience with project management a plus
Excellent partner and client relationships skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and with a high degree of independence, flexibility, initiative, and commitment
An understanding of community concepts and interest, knowledge, and commitment to community/primary health care
Outstanding research, analytical, communications, verbal, written, and presentation skills.
Demonstrated awareness of and appreciation for the value of cultural competence
Proficiency with: Office 365 Suite, webinar platforms, website management, social media, Canva, video production, project management software etc.
Ability to multitask, organize, prioritize, and manage a heavy workload.
Must be willing to travel, as required.
The Project Manager must display sound judgment, relate well to the public and staff, have a professional demeanor, prioritize customer satisfaction, and be well-organized.

Salary Range: N150-N250k
