Job description:
Must have significant experience with hands-on supervisory competence from previous work in the Oil & Gas Industry in Nigeria (Minimum of 10 years) and with good knowledge of material management end-end process as well as QA/QC background. Must possess strong analytical skills especially in developing and applying supply chain concept, and ability to identify and lead in material management improvements areas, competence in delivering trainings, possessing skills in performance management and reporting, as well as demonstrating practical knowledge of HSSE.
Academic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (B.Eng.) – Mechanical engineering or related field of engineering (Second Class Upper)
COREN Certification
Technology Platform
Adept at working with SAP and enterprise Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Power Point, Teams); SharePoint, etc.
Technical Skills
Material quality and availability are key focus areas for improvement to deliver our business needs and preservation activities are essential in order to maintain the technical integrity of stored equipment and spare parts, thereby preventing value erosion. The Preservation Coordinator’s role is a resource with the correct technical knowledge to effectively manage and coordinate the execution of preservation activities across all the Main Warehouses and Sub stores in SPDC to ensure they align with schedules and standards and that all materials are stored in the correct methods and right conditions, remain fit for use when required, and also ensure that SPDC’s preservation requirements and guidelines are embedded.
The scope of this role shall include but not limited to the following:
Developing the annual preservation and storage plan.
Determine preservation scope and develop task list for each material type to be preserved (With TA inputs)
Develop preservation procedure for each material type (With TA inputs)
Set up preservation routines and manage preservation work orders in SAP for each material type.
Liaise with the SC Compliance Lead to set up specialized preservation contracts.
Coordinate the execution of preservation activities across all the warehouses to ensure alignment with schedules and standards.
Supervise both specialized and basic preservation activities for SPDC.
Provide quarterly reports on preservation and carry out performance tracking.
Liaise with the heads of the Warehouses to ensure compliance to basic on preservation activities.
Implement end of shelf-life management for perishable inventory.
Manage the preventive maintenance of carousel storage units in SPDC warehouses.

Work Schedule:
The work location is the Shell Industrial Area, Port Harcourt.
The successful candidate will manage own absences with his/her contractor for suitable qualified covers.
There may be need for official assignments and periodic visits to onshore, offshore warehouses and store locations required.
