Job description:
We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead our daily activities, drive innovation, and contribute to the company’s mission of sustainability and environmental impact.
Position Summary:
The Operations Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the company’s recycling and content creation ventures, new collection initiatives, as well as the production site where recyclables are sorted and processed. This role will ensure smooth execution of supply chain management, production processes, aligned with the company’s sustainability goals and branding, while fostering innovation and growth. The ideal candidate is a self-driven leader with a passion for growth, an entrepreneurial mindset, willingness to multitask and work in a growth company environment, which offers a lot of opportunities to impact, and take on assignments beyond their immediate scope to help the company expand into new markets.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Operations Management:
Oversee daily recyclables collection, logistics, and supply chain activities.
Implement and optimize processes for operational efficiency and innovation.
2. Team Leadership:
Supervise collection/purchasing agents, supply representatives, production staff, and field teams.
Provide guidance, motivation, and ensure staff meet performance targets.
3. Logistics and Supply Chain:
Manage the collection and distribution of recyclables, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries to collection hubs.
Work closely with suppliers and logistics partners to streamline operations.
4. Production and Quality Control:
Oversee daily operations at the production site, including sorting and processing of recyclables.
Ensure production targets are met and optimize workflows for efficiency.
Maintain high standards of quality control, ensuring that products meet company and customer specifications.
Coordinate with supply and logistics teams to ensure a steady flow of materials to and from the production site.
5. Process Improvement and Innovation:
Identify areas for operational improvement and propose innovative solutions.
Drive the development and implementation of new collection ventures and expansion strategies.
6. Customer and Supplier Relations:
Maintain strong relationships with customers and suppliers, ensuring efficient service delivery.
Address operational issues and resolve them promptly.
7. Growth and Expansion:
Lead the expansion of operations into new cities, while developing strategies for new business ventures.
Collaborate with senior leadership to explore growth opportunities and implement innovative projects.
8. Collaboration and Multitasking:
Work closely with the upcoming content creation/marketing team to highlight the company’s environmental impact.
Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support the company’s overall growth.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Logistics, or a related field.
Experience:
4+ years of experience in operations management, preferably in waste management, production, logistics, or recycling.
Skills:
Proven leadership and team management abilities.
Strong problem-solving skills with an innovative mindset.
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic, growing environment.
Experience with production management, supply chain management, and logistics.
Excellent communication skills and a drive for growth and new ventures.
Proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Office tools.
Knowledge of operational software and ERP systems is a plus.
