Job description:

A leading company in the real estate development sector seeks to appoint a Managing Director (MD). Interested candidates with relevant qualifications and experiences are invited to apply for this post.

Duties & Responsibilities
Strategic Planning: jointly responsible for setting the overall strategic direction of the company. This includes defining short-term and long-term goals, identifying target markets, and devising strategies to achieve growth and profitability.
Financial Management: Overseeing the financial health of the company. This includes budgeting, financial forecasting, monitoring cash flow, and ensuring that projects are financially viable.
Business Development: Involved in identifying new business opportunities and partnerships. This shall involve scouting for new development projects, negotiating land acquisitions, or forming joint ventures with other companies.
Project Management: Real estate development projects can be complex and multifaceted. The MD shall be responsible for overseeing the development process from start to finish, including securing permits, managing construction, and coordinating with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders.
Risk Management: Real estate development carries inherent risks, such as market fluctuations, regulatory changes, and construction delays. The MD shall assess these risks and implement strategies to mitigate them.
Legal and Compliance: Ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations is essential in real estate development. The MD shall work closely with legal counsel to navigate zoning laws, environmental regulations, and other legal requirements. He/she shall have a good understanding of EFCC/SCUML relevant laws and regulations guiding the real estate industry.
Team Leadership: Ability to lead a team of professionals, including project managers, architects, engineers, sales and marketing staff, and administrative personnel. And also responsible for hiring, training, and motivating team members to achieve company objectives.
Stakeholder Relations: Shall serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, including investors, clients, government officials, and community members. Building and maintaining positive relationships with these stakeholders is crucial for the success of the company.
Brand Building and Marketing: Developing and maintaining the company’s brand identity and reputation is important for attracting clients and investors. He/she shall be involved in marketing strategies, branding initiatives, and public relations efforts.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Keeping track of the company’s performance against key performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting progress to the board of directors, investors, and other stakeholders.
Requirements:
Minimum of First Degree in Estate Management, Economics, Engineering and Social Sciences.
An MBA or relevant post-graduate degree will be an added advantage.
Strong leadership and organizational skills, ability to multitask with proven project management capabilities.
Relevant Professional Certifications are required.
Good working knowledge of the entire real estate value chain (regulatory processes/health and safety etc.)
Excellent Negotiating, Organizational and Communication.
Experience:
Minimum of Twenty-Five (25) years experience in property development and sales in a real estate/facility management environment with at least 10 years at the Management / Leadership level.
Ability to establish and maintain good relationships with clients and contractors from different backgrounds.
Proven ability to successfully manage diverse teams of sales, technical, facility management, vendors and contractors.
