Job description:
We seek an enthusiastic and competent Human Resources & Communications Manager to join our organization.
As the HR & Comm Manager, at AGS Nigeria, you will play a key role in supporting various human resources functions, including employee compensation & benefit administration, recruitment, payroll management, employee relations, performance management, training, compliance, facilitating communication between the company and the union, and negotiating collective bargaining agreements.
You will ensure the HR department runs smoothly and effectively while fostering a positive workplace culture.
Reports to: Branch Manager/Managing Director
Supervises: HR Department
Responsibilities
Manage payroll system, onboarding/offboarding, recruitment, and employee data/information management
Lead and manage union negotiation processes, drafting and implementing collective bargaining agreements
Serve as a liaison between employees and management to address employee concerns, mediate conflicts, and promote positive working relationships.
Provide support to employees on HR-related functions such as leaves, compensation, benefits, etc. Administer employee benefit programs, answer employee questions, and ensure compliance with company policies and regulations
Maintain employee records, process HR paperwork, and support daily operations of the HR department.
Manage mid and end-of-probation reviews, redeployments, changes to appointments and termination of fixed-term contracts
Developed training programs for new and existing employees
Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory HR requirements
Develop HR policies and provide advice on policy development
Manage employee health plans, employee insurance covers, and welfare
Compute PAYE, pensions, and all statutory remittances
Improve employee productivity and organizational effectiveness by reviewing processes to ensure optimal HR service delivery
Advise top management on appropriate employee corrective/disciplinary actions
Manage full recruitment lifecycle of job adverts, applicant vetting and new employee onboarding
Qualification:
Bachelor’s degree/HND or equivalent in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
2-5 years of experience in a Human Resources Generalist role.
Strong knowledge of HR functions (pay & benefits, recruitment, training & development, etc.).
Strong understanding of labor laws, collective bargaining agreements, and union-management dynamics.
Ability to mediate and resolve conflicts effectively and diplomatically.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster positive relationships between employees, management, and union representatives.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
Benefits & Compensation:
Gross salary – N250,000 to N400,000per month
