Head of Finance

Job description:

We are looking for an experienced and committed Head of Finance who has a proven track record of leading dynamic teams and driving strategic growth. This ideal candidate will be responsible for collecting and communicating the financial position of the company and making financial decisions accordingly.

Responsibilities:
Provide valuable financial insights, planning, and analysis for effective decision-making.
Develop financial plans, budgets, and forecasts to help achieve financial goals.
Ensure compliance with internal controls and regulations.
Manage, guide, and supervise the performance of the finance team.
Oversee tax compliance.
Maintain financial stability by effectively managing assets and liabilities.
Prepare financial reports, analyses, and summaries to provide accurate and timely information.
Manage cash flow effectively to ensure the smooth running of the business.
Establish accounting processes and systems to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
Prepare year-end accounts and statutory accounts according to legal requirements.
Conduct internal audits such as salary reviews, cost control strategies, procurement, and vendor expenditures to ensure financial accountability and transparency.

Requirements:
BSc/BA in accounting, finance, or a related field
MSc/MBA or relevant certificate e.g. CFA, CPA, ICAN, ACCA is required
At least 5 years of proven work experience in financial management and planning, accounting, and credit control
Proven track record of leading and managing high-performing finance team
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights and recommendations for executive decision-making
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency in accounting systems and software
In-depth knowledge of financial principles, practices, and regulations, including FIRS, SEC requirements, and industry-specific standards
