Job description:
The Assistant Manager, HSE will assist the HSE Manager in implementing and managing HSE policies and programs, conducting safety audits, and overseeing compliance with safety regulations.
The role requires proactive planning, monitoring, and improving health and safety practices to reduce workplace risks.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in developing and enforcing HSE policies, procedures, and programs in alignment with regulatory requirements.
Conduct regular risk assessments, inspections, and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
Support the investigation of accidents and incidents, perform root cause analysis, and recommend corrective actions.
Provide HSE training and awareness programs for employees, contractors, and visitors.
Coordinate emergency response and readiness plans, including conducting drills and first-aid training.
Monitor and report on safety performance and environmental impact, preparing data-driven reports for management.
Maintain accurate records of all HSE activities, including incident reports, inspection findings, and safety meetings.
Liaise with regulatory agencies and ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Support the HSE Manager in strategic planning and policy development to promote a culture of safety and environmental stewardship.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
5 years of experience in an HSE role, preferably with managerial or supervisory responsibilities.
Strong knowledge of HSE regulations, standards, and industry best practices.
Relevant HSE certification (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, HSE Level 1-3) is preferred.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Salary
N250,000 / month.
