Job description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organised Accounts Clerk to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting, bookkeeping, and financial tasks. The Accounts Clerk will help to ensure that the company’s financial records are accurate and up-to-date, support the day-to-day accounting operations, and assist with various administrative duties.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Entry and Record Keeping:
Accurately enter financial transactions into the accounting software.
Maintain and update financial records, including ledgers, journals, and invoices.
Accounts Payable and Receivable:
Process accounts payable invoices and ensure timely payment to vendors.
Prepare and send out customer invoices, and follow up on outstanding receivables.
Reconcile accounts payable and receivable ledgers to ensure accuracy.
Bank Reconciliation:
Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure that all transactions are accurately recorded and discrepancies are resolved.
Financial Reporting:
Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Generate and review financial reports to identify and correct discrepancies.
Administrative Support:
Provide administrative support to the accounting department as needed.
Assist with the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
Handle correspondence and communications related to accounting matters.
Compliance and Documentation:
Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
Maintain accurate and organized records of all financial transactions.
Assist with internal and external audits as required.
Other Duties:
Assist with payroll processing and related activities.
Perform other accounting and administrative tasks as assigned by the Accounting Manager.
Qualifications and Experience:
Higher National diploma or equivalent; additional qualifications in accounting or finance are a plus.
Proven experience as an Accounts Clerk or in a similar role.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
Basic understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping practices.
Familiarity with accounts payable and receivable processes.
Skills and Competencies:
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Working Conditions:
Office-based role with standard working hours.
Occasional overtime may be required to meet deadlines.

Pay: From ₦80,000.00 per month
